Arenas rebuilding and restoration

40% of all ice arenas in Ukraine were seized or destroyed. UHD is working on rescuing and moving the potentially mobile infrastructure and creating possibilities and roadmap for rebuilding and restoration of the industry. 

To make up for the loss of the destroyed ice arena in Druzhkivka, along with others,  3 new indoor ice rinks can be built in Zakarpattia region. The project will be implemented as part of the hockey development program in Zakarpattia in collaboration with the Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine.

The location for one of the training arenas has been allocated in Uzhhorod, while other cities are still being explored. One of the main criteria is the infrastructure that will allow for the quick implementation of the projects. The goal of the project is to cover the rinks with domes, extending the training period from the current three to four months to nine months. This will enable young hockey players to engage in the sport more extensively.
